Wow! I'm so glad to have had the chance to read this! You've done a marvelous job of capturing the regret of "what might have been."
The whole piece is very believable. I like that Snape and Lily both have such innocent memories. I find it very telling that Lily's is one bit of a normal day, while Snape's is a special day, though still just kind of a plain old day that could happen to anyone.
The ending was bittersweet with possibility and crushing with lost chances.
