Hello, Quidditch fans!

A quick announcement from the admins:

We, the staff of the Quidditch Pitch, apologize for our lackluster performance of late. As the Chudley Cannons would say, we are in a rebuilding phase of our organization.

In order to allow our staff to find the best stories possible we must announce:

Submissions Closed Until June 1

We are in the midst of a beta marathon and need the extra time to concentrate on the stories that have been caught up in the down time.

Thank you for your support, and we look forward to sharing the Potter love!!

Closing to Submissions

CLOSING TO SUBMISSIONS

In order to catch up on the submissions received and prepare for the stories percolating in your brains after the first of the final Harry Potter movies are released, the Captains have decided to close the Submissions Queue starting Friday, October 15 at 12:01 AM EDT. All stories received after this time will not be accepted.

The Submissions Queue will reopen on Friday, November 19th at 12:01 AM EDT. We plan to have events on that date, so stay tuned and get those stories submitted in the next few days!

Submission Queue Re-opened

Sorry that this announcement has been delayed, but hey, the Captains had a HUGE hangover and have just now recovered.

The submission queue is now reopened and the Quidditch Coordinators and Quidditch Assistants will gladly get back to approving, uploading, and betaing. Or, you know, whatever the hell they do. (I never said I'd give up sarcasm for New Years...)

Submission & Beta Queue Closing for Holidays

The Quidditch Pitch staff would like to wish all of you a safe and happy holiday season!

Queue: Beginning Monday 21 December 2009 through Monday 4 January 2010, our submission queue will be closed for the holidays. This is to allow our entire staff time to finish their current stories and prepare for the holidays with their families and friends. The staff of The Quidditch Pitch will return energized after the holiday to fulfill all of your fanfiction needs. If you are currently working on stories you would like posted to the site, please contact your Quidditch Assistant and make arrangements to have the story updated prior to 21 December.

Simons Flower Funeral and In Lieu of Flowers

Hi,

We wanted to do something to let simons_flower's daughter know just what an amazing person her mom was. We want her sister and parents to know how many lives their Trisha touched. I wanted Mr. Simonsflower to know how much we loved her, how much we will miss her, and how many times she made us laugh.

So what do you do here? Post your memories of Trisha. Post pictures-post quotes from her stories.

Your memories can become Jocelyn's, Stephanie (her sister), Jim's (hubby) and her parents memories.

We're going to put the community into book form and send it to Jim to give to Jocelyn.

Simons Flower Edit | Delete In 2003 I met a wonderful woman and writer.

simons_flower. I remember the first time I met her I was in total awe because she was my favorite trio writer.
Over the years she has played Hermione to my Ron and to

madam_minnie's Harry. I know I will be able to put into words later how much she mean to me but right now the words won't come.

I got a call this morning actually two calls. One from

flotsomnjetsom and later one from Jim her husband. I want to emphasize that this isn't a joke or a game and defintley not fake.

Jim found

simons_flower this morning on the floor of the bathroom. The EMT's were called but they were unable to revive her. She passed away this morning in her home.

Please keep her daughter in your thoughts and prayers. Please keep her sister and family in your thoughts and prayers.

Trisha was 37 years old. She was an amazing writer, she was fearless, she was my best friend. She made me a better writer, a better person, and she was always there for me.

I don't have any information on funeral arrangements but I will be updating with public post as regularly as I can.

My heart is broken right now and I'll never be the same.

Announcing a New Challenge

Announcing The Quidditch Pitch's....

In this challenge, we have MANY pieces of fanart to inspire your writing and your job is to write a drabble or ficlet to accompany the piece. Here are the details:

If you have submitted a multi-chaptered story in the past few months and have not been contacted by a Quidditch Assistant (Aka) Beta Reader. Please take a moment and resubmit your story or contact thecaptains@thequidditchpitch.org.

Due to a technical glitch in our beta queue several multi-chapter stories have vanished. We strongly feel this is either the work of Voldemort or Bellatrix but can't be sure.
