One of my favorite H/D fics. Nicely done. I love that Harry is still "Harry", as humble as ever, yet still powerful. As for Draco, what can I say, I love a haughty, wealthy "bad" boy with a soul, especially one with a love for his kid.

Whoa! That bedroom scene between Blaise (gorgeously detailed) and Harry burns off the page. The emotion was so palpable. I love that Harry couldn't ultimately go through with it. His heart, soul, and mind are so conflicted. What is with the shrew-like Hermoine? Shouldn't she be more guilt-ridden and little less judgmental. Yet, I can't say it is not on the whole suspensful wondering when her dirty deed will come to light.

Goodness, they are so close yet so far away. I can't wait to see Harry's wrath when the plot is blown. I hope it is good. He is such a powerful wizard in this tale and I can only hope we see some of that displayed in righteous ass-kickery and payback :) I also want to personally stuff brown-nosing Percy in a hamper and sit a hippogriff on its lid, ridding us all of the git.

[Reviews - 20] Summary: In Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince there is a pivotal moment where things could have gone very differently. That is the bathroom scene where Harry nearly kills Draco by accident. Draco is upset that Harry has caught him crying and throws a hex. It escalates and ends in blood. Our story begins with the simple premise of "what if" something changed in the bathroom scene so that Harry and Draco talked instead of throwing hexes. It also takes the assumption of unvoiced attraction between the two. Draco takes a chance and kisses Harry. Once sparked, their mutual desire and exploration becomes the driving force in the alternative ending to that of Half-Blood Prince. Draco's "mission" from Voldemort turns out to be more complex than that presented in canon and their solution even more difficult.
