Bio:
An adult Harry Potter fan who came upon the series late. I ship H/G and H/Hr (despite their mutual incompatability). The fact that neither Hermione nor Ginny seem exactly right has also led to a dalliance with H/Hr/G threesome stories (my dirty secret).
I don't write much anymore, but I have some ideas for an AU Y6-7 saga that may see the light of day one day.
He'd been too young, too. (Harry/Ron/Hermione, James)

An interesting fast-forward through the post-DH world from a decidely unexpected source. I'm not much of a Trio-ship man myself, but this is a well-written and well-presented work that does capture the characters in a believable manner.
Author's Response: Thank you very much! I am very much a Trio-shipper and a James fan, so this was a joy to write. Thanks for giving it a chance even though it might not have been your usual fare. ;)
All his emotions were waiting, clamouring just off stage, eager for their chance to flood in and overwhelm him. Grief, trauma, anger, relief, pride, gratitude, loss....Not yet, he told himself. Tonight I’ll just be.

Aw! A lovely POV piece looking in at the friendship that is the Trio. You get your comfort where you can and I guess that Ginny will always have to accept that there is her and there is the Trio. She will have to get used to sharing her husband with her brother and sister-in-law (and no, I'm not suggesting that there is some crazy swinger arrangement between them, dirty people! ;-) ). Ultimately, in a life as filled with horror and uncertainty as Harry's, the permanancy of his relationship with Ron & Hermione is a constant that he will always need, I think.
I loved that bit at the beginning with Harry revelling in the 'expanse of nothing that he had to do'. For the first time, he is not The Chosen One, he is just Harry.
Author's Response:
thanks so much. yes - i think in canon that she really needs to accept and even embrace that. i love the deep platonic love in the trio.
of course... i also am a trio shipper. for the same reasons just taken a step further.
i agree with you that in the life that harry has had, these relationships will have an even deeper significance to him.
thanks so much for the lovely review.

Aw, that was brilliant! Such a wonderful trip into the minds of the Trio. You get the characterisations just right and, most importantly, you remain true to them in how you show their responses to the developing situation.
There were several lovely moments here to remember, the Hermione/Ron collision being the funniest. I also liked the various 'voices' of his inner monolouge. It was funny that he should have a mischief voice that sounded like Fred... unless Fred really was there, looking out for his favorite investor and silent partner.
I'm not usually a canon pairing fan, preferring H/Hr. However, this is an impressive work so far so I will be looking out for more of this story.

An interesting start to this story, but there is a bit too much introspection and looking back. You might want to think of presenting events in a strictly chronological order and moving us to the introduction to young Miss Dursley as soon as possible.
I did like your characterisations of Dudley (a bit pompous - how could a son of Vernon be anything else?) and Ron (still not thinking before talking).
It should have been all about the danger, but all she could think about was her cock.Categories: The Broomshed > Self Pleasure

You know... this really was incredibly funny. It is strange what a kinky fetish (enabled by magic) can do for a relationship. What makes it even funnier is oblivious!Harry XD
Author's Response: Thank you so much! I'm thrilled this gave you a few good laughs.

Well, it's good to read a story with a semi-human Dudley Dursley. Of all the in-laws from hell, he is the one most likely to reform. Why? Because Harry could have left him to the Dementors but didn't.
I think that your characterisations were sound. Dudley's assessment of his parents is pretty good too. However, I wonder if Vernon bullied Petunia too to make her so submissive and unwilling to stand up for her own wishes.
I assume that this is going to be a Dudley/Katie romance. Goodness knows that would finish off The Blimp (my name for Vernon). ;-)
This is a good start for a story. I will be looking out for more instalments.

Aw! Fluffy and sweet!
I loved Katie's reaction to Shrek. I also loved your portrayal of Petunia. That is exactly how I imagine her to be - sweetness mixed with guilt trips when not deferred to.
BTW - I think that you have grossly underestimated Vernon's reaction to Dudley dating a w.... a w... a w... a Freak!!! ;-)

Date: 10/18/2007 Title: Chapter 3: Chapter 3
I must say that I love your portrayal of Petunia. She really is the most neurotic mess, isn't she? There is probably a small library of unresolved guilt issues (not to mention that she was probably a little jealous of her sister's apparently managing to have two boyfriends - Severus and James).
She also very obviously is trying to compensate for abusing Harry by spoiling Dudley. It was inevitable that he would finally have to break away from her need to smother him, ironically in the same way that Bill and Charlie Weasley did with Molly. Vernon... well, he is basically a walking cliché; I doubt that he has ever really been interested in Dudley except as a clone to carry on where he left off.
What makes this story really interesting is that it is mostly written from a grown-up Dudley's point of view. It is therefore very interesting in that it gives a real outsider's POV on the wizarding world, its personalities and its social quirks.
My advice to Dudley? Don't worry about the long-term for now. Just enjoy being with Katie.

This story's big moment was the body language between Dudley and Katie. I doubt even they knew exactly how serious it was getting before that. The stories of the "Er... what was their name again?" first times made me laugh. Ten quid says that Katie was with McLaggen. He strikes me as the sort of guy who, no matter how good his technique, would never stick in mind. :-p
BTW - The song sung by the fans of the Harpies was hillarious. Especially that bit about "Turn around and have a hurl/You got beat by a bunch of girls!" XD
You know... I think that Dudley is going to enjoy teaching Katie about the muggle world. I think that he is going to really enjoy telling his parents that he is getting serious with her.

Date: 10/27/2007 Title: Chapter 5: Chapter 5
Poor Dudley! It has often been argued that Petunia and Vernon abused him as badly they did Harry, just in a different way. It must be difficult for him to defy them. It must be even more difficult to express his feelings (it seems to be a problem for us blokes - can't express our feelings :-p ).
I'm looking forward to how this goes. I think that there is still to be the final confontation with the parents with a possible chill in the relationship before the end. I'll wait to see.

Date: 11/01/2007 Title: Chapter 6: Chapter 6
The 'heart bond' is an interesting idea. Given how inbreeding is causing real problems in the wizarding world (*coughCrabbeandGoylecough*), it may have been some enterprising wizard's attempt to widen the gene pool. I think that the condition that, for the bond to exist, the participants' hearts must "match" will give Dudley much food for thought.
I loved your portrayal of Katie's family. It looks like eccentricity isn't limited to the Weasleys! I loved how Katie's mum was worried that over demonstrations of magic would frighten Dudley. Obviously, she has never met George Weasley. :-p
This story continues to have sufficient pace and keeps the attention for the next chapter. Well done!

Date: 11/13/2007 Title: Chapter 7: Chapter 7
I have a strange image in my head of Harry pacing around Godric's Hollow and shouting "When did I become the world's personal Yenta?!?" Still, he is Dudley's only real magical contact, so he is the only one who could help out.
If Dudley wants to soft-soap his parents about his relationship with Katie, Ginny has just given him the opening - Katie's maternal grandparents were 'normal', so it isn't as if Dudley's running off with a girl whose entire family are freaks. :-p I doubt that he will do that though. He is a bit too annoyed with Petunia's attempt to control him to give much consideration to her response to Katie's nature.
I think that this story has maintained its pace well. It is hardly an action-packed thrill ride. It is more of an exploration of how Dudley might grow as a person, using Katie as the catalyst for that exploration.
I will be interested to see what will happen in the next chapter. Perhaps Dudley will have to practice saying "I love you" in the mirror a few times. I also think that Vernon will be coming over to have a stroke at Dudley for being 'abnormal'.

Date: 11/26/2007 Title: Chapter 8: Chapter 8
And... That's a wrap [/spielberg]
An interesting ending and much as I expected it would be. Vernon is not able to deal with anyone who has even the slightest difference in viewpoint to his 'normal' one. If he can't intimidate them, he has no other methods open to him. Petunia has never allowed Dudley to grow up in her mind. It is all pretty tragic in the end.
I did like the ending with the arrival of a half-blood Dursely and the beginning of the wedding.
What is my overall view of this story? It is unique in that it makes Dudley a three-dimensional character with real feelings and thoughts. We finally see him as something other than an extension of his father's bigotry and his mother's callousness. The realism of the character made the story worth the reading.

Date: 12/01/2007 Title: Chapter 9: Epilogue
You know, as sad as it is, I wasn't surprised to read that Petunia had cut Harry off. She had two choices: let go of her bitterness or lose her son. But to do the former she had to admit her mistakes and that is something that she was just too weak to do.
A nice ending. I bet that Tabitha will be a member of the new Gryffindor Trio that is about to be Sorted at Hogwarts. And, of course, with the beginning of their adventures we reach a different story.
This story was thoughtful, passionate and involving where needed. It was a great work. Thanks for sharing it with us.

Now, that is simply the best post-DH Granger family story that I've read. The story actually addresses the ethics of Hermione's actions, whether it was with her parents' approval and the likely consequences both to her conscience and her relationship with her family.
I think that you got Hermione in character here. She likes to act tough, but she is a very vulnerable young woman under all that nagging, books and bluster.
Author's Response:
Wow! Thank you!
Hermione is a very interesting character because of her flaws which she absolutely hates about herself! I love writing her and I try really hard to keep her in character.
Thank you for taking the time to review, much appreciated! :D
