I will say I don't think Ron was with Lavender the day before she broke up with him, he had been hiding from her for week(s) after his poisoning.  No, Ron didn't have any kind of sex with Lavender, only Hermione.

I really have a problem with Hermione running to Draco.  She must really want to end things with Ron.  Being pregnant really doesn't take away one's ability to think sensibly.  And it is just cruel to Ron.  He told her the first time they had sex that it wasn't a one time thing for him it meant forever.  He has been nothing but supportive but this isn't enough for Hermione.  I'm really angry with her.

I don't like Draco remember he is a spy not a true friend.  He only want to get in her knickers anyway.

Author's Response: Dear KaL, Thanks for the review.  I have a problem with it, too!  Read carefully - she's not acting right, is she?  Let's see what Draco has up his sleeve.

Reviewer: KaL Signed
Date: 04/01/2008 Title: Chapter 24: Chapter 24 - Unspoken Desire

I will say that I was worried that whatever was bothering Hermione would have her sleeping with Draco and messing everything up, thank heavens she came to herself and Draco didn't take advantage.

Draco has me confused in this story.  I think he is going to turn to the right and then he thinks about his commitment to his father being a spy.  I really wonder what will happen.

I did like Draco talking to Hermione and telling her what she needed to hear:

“I still can’t believe I’m saying this, but if he wants to marry you, then he really loves you and you need to accept his help.  This is his child as much as yours.  I know I’d feel just terrible if I were in his shoes, not that I carry any feelings for Weasley and I could care less about his life, but what you’ve done is just cruel.”

she was being cruel and thoughtless to Ron.

I was surprised but glad to see Ron handle finding Hermione at Draco's the way he did.  Maybe he is growing up and keeping control of his temper and jealously better.  I do hope they talk openly to each other and move forward.

Now the big worry, who intercepted the owl?  Snape or Lucious, and what will they do now that they know Hermione was there???

Update soon, I anxiously await.

Author's Response: Dear Kal, I was hoping to hear from you!  I knew you were worried after that last chapter and I couldn't just tell you how it was going to work out, but as you'll see, our Hermione isn't jumping into Draco's bed.  I'm going to leave you hanging for a while on Draco.  The jury is still out on him - although I know which side he's going to take ultimately.  Interesting that you think one of them intercepted the owl.  Most would say it just didn't reach them in time.  More to come soon.  Thanks again.  I love hearing from you!

Reviewer: KaL Signed
Date: 04/01/2008 Title: Chapter 24: Chapter 24 - Unspoken Desire

OK the reason I think the owl was intercepted is because Draco sent it out about 1-2 in the morning.  Ron and Harry left for his apartment about 10 in the morning, more than enough time for an owl to deliver a message.

I think Hermione must of somehow been affected when she pricked her fingure on the trunk, but I can't guess why or how.

I wonder if Harry's to guards one like sunset the other like sunrise are Ron for sure (sunset) and then Draco (sunrise) I tried to fit Hermione in but her coloring doesn't work maybe if the discription was like the autumn or something.

I do feel bad for Ron, after re-reading Hermione has really cut him off both emotionally and physically.  She hasn't been with him since summer?  She pushes him away and won't believe him when he tells her that he loves her and wants her and the baby, and then she complains that when he asked her to marry him he was not overly affectionate.  What is the poor man to do?  This is why I think some outside force must be influencing her, I really can't stand the thought that she is really this mean.

Thanks for such an interesting story, it always keeps me thinking and guessing.

Author's Response: Yes, you've got the owl right on the timing, not that it couldn't have been intercepted, but Ron and Harry were out searching for her, Apparating here and there.  Hard for an owl to track you down.  Ron has been so understanding, but I wonder how much more he'll take.  I love that you're trying to decipher the sunset/sunrise reference.  Very good.   I'll try to keep you in suspense a bit longer.  Thanks for the review once again.  Love it, love it, love it!

I couldn’t believe it.  Last night I thought it had been a while since there had been an update so I decided to re-read the last chapter.  Low and behold there was an update along with a HOT out take.  I am so glad Ron and Hermione have worked things out.  By the way, I am assuming that they have told their parents if she is showing, but I couldn’t really pick anything up with the way Molly was acting.

I enjoyed seeing Ron’s ability to see things and put them together even when he is exhausted.  With all of them working together they will have the puzzle solved soon.

I can’t decide if Draco really wants to turn to the right side.  His mission was to infiltrate and it seems that if the Order opens themselves up to him that that is exactly what he will be doing.  I can’t really trust Hermione’s judgment on all of this since she really hasn’t been acting “normal” even for a pregnant woman.

I won’t leave a separate review for the out take, suffice it to say I loved it soooo hot.  I just wish Hermione would realize how much Ron loves her and accept his proposal.

Can’t wait for more this story really has caught hold of my imagination I love when I see an update.

Just a quick question.  If this is the first of October wouldn’t Hermione be nineteen?

Author's Response: Dear KaL, Thanks for the great LONG review!  I'm just tickled!!  I've been so worried about this chapter - probably rewrote it about 7 times before I was happy with it.  So, I'm just thrilled to hear reviews like yours.  To answer your question, yes, she just turned nineteen in September.  I think it's more a generalization saying an 18 year old unwed mother because I think it has more impact, but you are right, she's nineteen now.  Take Care!

I should have read the reviews before I posted.

1)  I don't think Ron is a doormat.  I think he is a young man in an impossilbe situation.  He is going to be a Father and his love is extremely emotional he's just trying his best to maintain harmony for now.

2)  Harry's insensitivity toward Ron?  What better way to wake Ron up.  What should he have done, let Ron start drowning his sorrows in firewhisky and possibly messing up his Auror training not to mention his relationship with Hermione?

3)  I do sometimes think that Hermione is out of character, but she still has her brilliant moments with I am sure more to come.  She experiencing something she didn't have time to "study" for and she's thrown off.  I give her a break.

I've been out of town for a while, so, what a nice surprise to see this wonderful story updated.  Thank you so much for updating quickly.

Harry seems to have a wonderful self-healing power since opening the trunk, I wonder if he can help others?

I enjoyed Ron and Draco's talk, sort of clearing the air between them.  I do enjoy stories where Draco changes sides.  Although I and like Ron and will still keep my defenses up.  I remember that Draco is suppose to be a spy and he can still turn on them.  We'll see.

Hope you update again soon, I really love this story.

Author's Response: Dear KaL, So nice to hear from you again.  I think this last chapter with Ron and Draco is one of my favorites.  I find that I truly love writing Draco.  I find him intriguing although I've always had my opinions on whether he was going to end up good or evil.  You're going to know for sure in another couple of chapters!  So, hang on.  My undying gratitute for your continued readership!!

I was just re-reading this story when surprise! an update.

I'm still trying to figure out the riddle of the scrolls and trunk.  I just don't have the steel trap mind to do it.

Chapter 27

I still have my doubts about Draco and this chapter really didn't set my mind at ease.   I'm thinking Snape isn't totally evil and Draco would maybe like to work with the right but he is still really under his father's thumb.  It seems he should have found a way to warn Hermione.

Isn't 13 Grimmauld Place a muggle home?  Did Snape make a secret floo connection with the fireplace there?  Will Draco get help for Hermione before she's tortured?  Or will he betray the Order.

Please update soon I'm going crazy with these questions and more.

Author's Response: Dear Kal, you are my first review for this chapter and everything you asked has made me smile because it's exactly what I hoped for!!  Only one more chapter and you're going to find out about Draco.  I think I've left you in suspense long enough!  Thanks again for your lovely comments.  I hope I somehow manage to wrap all this up in the next 6 chapters and that it all makes sense!  Keeping my fingers crossed.

Hurray!  Draco chose the good.  He really did have his "Moment of Truth" Now I really think he and Ron are Harry’s guardians.

You really had me holding my breath and praying for deliverance for Hermione.  Your description of Dolohov and his torture of Hermione brought tears to my eyes.  I’m so thankful Ron and Remus made it in time.  Now I know Draco wouldn’t have let her be raped, but even if he had stopped Dolohov his father would have killed or at the very least rendered him unable to help.  There were too many Death Eaters for Draco to stop them all help showed up in the knick of time.

If I had been Ron I’m not sure I would have stopped at beating Dolohov I may have killed him.  As long as he’s alive some innocent in at risk.  Lucius got off easy, he should suffer with the memories of his sins.

I had been wondering if Ron and Hermione had told his family, I guess not.  She’s lucky to hide her condition from Molly at 5 months along.  Can't wait for Molly's reaction.  I do wish she would agree to marry Ron.

I’m glad that Ron is getting better about accepting Hermione’s friendship and doesn’t go off on jealous tirades any more.

I’ve only a chance to read the chapter through once, will do so again as soon as I can.  It seems there’s always things I miss the first time round.

Great story, love it, love it, love it.

Author's Response: Dear KaL, I'm so glad you like the direction this went.  I've been holding my breath waiting for the responses, but I'm sticking true to my story.  I won't deviate based on any other opinions.  Hope you enjoy the second read through.  I like this chapter a lot as well.  Thanks again.  Hope to hear from you on future chapters.

Yahoo, really excited to see this updated.

I can’t help but agree with SarahW a little as far as Draco/Hermione interaction goes.  She does need to make sure he isn’t hanging around hoping she will choose him over Ron.  The best way to do this of course would be for her to accept Ron’s proposal and get married (hopefully before the baby comes).

It’s about time Hermione learns she can’t keep the baby a secret.  Bill is so caring and I’m glad he was there to help Hermione with her nightmare and not Draco.

I love brilliant Ron I always thought he was much smarter than he thinks he is.  I love that Hermione is finally recognizing how much Ron has matured.  She really needs to get off her rear end or move aside so I can move in.

I haven’t had time to really re-read and examine the poem but I will go back.  It seems that it is describing not only Ginny but Draco and at the end the destruction of Voldemort.  I do wonder about both sisters and save seven of sevens.  My first thoughts were Lily and Petunia and then the Weasleys, but Lily is dead so I don’t know.  Confusion reigns.

Really they must think Molly is blind, she has had seven children.  There’s always more than a growing belly that lets those close to you know when you’re pregnant.  With all that’s happened it wouldn’t take too much to put it together and we all know Molly is as brilliant as Hermione.  I think she must be biding her time waiting for them to come to here before she confronts them.

Ginny’s dream reminds me of the 3rd Mummy movie though being an English pure blood witch I don’t see how she could be a descendant of an Egyptian princess nor Harry either.

You still have me making all sorts of guesses oh to have a mind like Ron’s then I could figure all this out.

Can't wait for more.

Author's Response:

Dear KaL, You get a gold star for the length of this review!!  Whoo Hoo!  You're starting to see Hermione come out of her hormonal angst and get her head back on straight so you'll note that she's figured Draco out.  However, after what he's done for Harry and her, I think he deserves their friendship.  You have to remember that Hermione has been trying to avoid being around Molly and she's not very big yet so she's still trying to hide it, but she's also beginning to realize that she'll have to face the music soon.  The poem's pieces will start to come together, but much won't make sense to the final chapter.  If you saw the amount of time I spent developing that, matching it to the rubbing, to the cadence, to the story - it took FOREVER!  Anyway, I hope it will all come together in the end as planned.  On Ginny, keep in mind that these are her dreams and although they are based on the memory of this curse, her own thoughts, feelings and imagination can skew them in her mind.  This curse actually occured thousands of years after ancient Egyptian times, but it takes on the feel of the period based on Harry and Ginny's own perceptions.  Think of your own dreams.  I can dream of myself in a completely different location and still realize I was dreaming about something I felt or thought about that was much closer to reality.  Thank you SO SO much for the review.  Hope to hear from you again soon.  Take care!!

Reviewer: KaL Signed
Date: 08/27/2008 Title: Chapter 30: Chapter 30 - These Dreams

BrandedFaithfully- Another great update.  Not enough Ron and Hermione for me but I guess the story does center on Harry and we need to be kept up to date.

I still think that Harry’s guardians are Draco and Ron, but I can’t understand why they don’t “protect” Harry in his dreams.  Harry’s ability to read his opponents’ minds is really an exciting development; I do wonder sometimes if Harry will become too smug and need some reminder of what could go wrong.  I can’t help but hope these new powers  transfer to his guardians, what a better way to protect him, what a surprise for Voldemort and his Deatheaters.

I’m as frustrated as Hermione with all these poems.  I hope I get a clue sometime but I’ve never been really good at riddles.

I wonder about the silent communication between Hermione and Ron.  Is she holding him back for fear of his getting hurt or another reason.  If she doesn’t want him as her husband she really shouldn’t dictate his actions.  He may be the father of her baby but does she love him enough to marry him? No!  She seems only concerned about her needs not his.  He has been to Egypt and helped Bill before, there may have been people they needed to talk to that would only recognize Ron.  I want to see Ron grow into the capable powerful wizard I know he is, not be held back.

(I don’t know where this rant came from but it was here in my mind and I had to voice it)

Telling Bill about the Horcruxs was another surprise, though I can think of no better person to confide in as he is a Curse Breaker and will hopefully help them figure out the curses needed to “kill” them.

Now, really, I would have appreciated it if you had let us in on Ginny’s dreams.  I don’t know how I’m going to figure this out without all the hints I can get.  Waiting for the next update will just about kill me.

Hope to see another update really, really, really soon, hopefully, with a lot more R/H.

Oh, by the way, I thought Ron was staying at Hermione’s. Is he still living at the Burrow?  How is he possibly handling leaving Hermione alone?

And could Molly be any less observant?  Really, I expected her to figure out about the baby by now, I’m disappointed.

P.S.  I didn't read your author notes until now.  I should have known you wouldn't leave me waiting for R/H too long.

Author's Response: Dear KaL, I just love your comments.  Once again, seeing you put the puzzle together and knowing how my clues are working for you, is really thrilling!  I can't tell you if you're right or wrong, but it's surely fun to watch.  I think you misunderstand about Hermione's silent communication with Ron.  She isn't holding him back, she's terrified of something happening to the baby and him not being there or him getting hurt or killed and leaving her all alone.  Molly is observant, but Hermione has been very careful and of course, she's just showing enough now to really stand out, hence the loose fitting clothes and lots of robes!  Well, anyway, that's it for now.  I'd love to chat more, but can't give away any state secrets!  More to come soon.  Thanks once again for your wonderful insights!

What a wonderful chapter.  You put so much information in it I think you just may be able to get me where I want to go in 2 more chapters and an epilogue.

It was great reading a mostly Ron/Hermione chapter.

I absolutely loved Ron’s speech and proposal.  While making a hard announcement about the baby (loved the way he looked for support from Bill, Harry & Draco) he still is so protective of Hermione.  I loved how he described how much he loved Hermione.  Her acceptance (finally) was almost anti-climatic after his wonderful speech and actions.  I just loved it.

Oh to be in the kitchen when Molly had her private talk with him.  I hope we get a description later.

I really felt for Hermione with her Dad’s reaction.  When my daughter was engaged she called me and told me she was pregnant.  She was “joking” trying to get to me.  (It worked) but I was surprised at the anger that shot through me at first, but never would I have thought to say the things Hermione had to endure.  So sad.  I hope he comes around.

I did like the little side views of Harry and Ginny they are getting so close.  I didn’t forget Ginny’s dream and I can’t wait for this all to be put together.  Really I like how you put a little of everyone in this chapter.  A real feel of family.

I hope Draco can find happiness in a few years.  At least he actually seems able to move on and become interested in someone besides Hermione.

Well, hope to see another update soon.  I have really enjoyed this story, in fact I kinda hate to see it ending while at the same time I’m excited for the mystery to be solved.

So glad to see an update.  I’m getting rather anxious since I feel the end if near.

So, I guessed right about Ron and Draco being Harry’s protectors, but I need to go back and re-read to remember more about the curse.  For some reason the fact that the DE will try and kidnap Ginny to return her to Voldemort really took me by surprise.

I love Ron being protective of Hermione and the baby, but forbidding her…I would have lost it too.

I hate that Hermione keeps saying and doing things that hurt Ron so much, but at least she listened to him and understands him better.

Now for some reason the last line of this paragraph makes little sense to me.  Could you please expound for me? (Only if you have time.)

“This is a symbol that represents an ancient society that were known as ‘Patronus of Lux lucis’ the ‘Protectors of the Light.’  Men who attained this honor were tattooed with this symbol and were sworn to defend the world from the dark forces.  It was said they had a great strength or supernatural abilities that allowed them to shield those whom the Sun god marked as ‘Defenders of the Light.’”

Are Ron and Draco Protectors of Light and Harry and Ginny Defenders of Light?

P.S.  Did you know I love strong, capable, smart Ron?  Your Ron is perfect.
