Draco (and Tori) seem more careful in choosing their battles and picking their enemies than Lucius has been in the past.

And did I detect the merest hint of a spark between Draco and Hermione when they were discussing Judith?  It was not quite flirting, but Malfoy was being charming and Hermione was letting her guard down a bit. This could prove interesting as they both appear happily married.

Author's Response:

Draco and Tori are demonstrating the positive aspects of Slytherin House.

And I'm afraid there is no "spark" between Draco and Hermione; I'm not going down that path.

Thanks for your review!

Summary: She was accused of betraying their friendship, their side, so she left. Almost three years have passed and now she is asked to forgive and forget. Hermione did not know what to do or how to feel .... Non-DH complaint.

To my suprise, I like this story.  It is most certainly AU, but once you accept the premise of the story, it can be enjoyed on its own. There are actually two premises that you have ta accept in this story.  I actually have less trouble with the Draco/Hermione love, than I do with Harry's listless life, but...accepting that.

Draco has a gift for screwing up his life,  Yes, there are people who hate him, and always will.  There are also plenty of people that are giving him 2nd, 3rd, and 4th chances.

I also think Hermione has also sold the wizarding world short.  I think she has many more friends than she realizes.  She seems to have left after a story by Rita in the Daily Prophet.  Niether she nor Draco, nor Ginny seem to know there are thoise who admire her.  Arthur I think might know more than hes saying on that score,

It also makes sense that Ron would be abroad.  He has had his heart, not just broken, but shattered. Romania is a wonderful choice.  I doubt there will be a happy reunion between Ron and Hermione.  I do hope Ron has found some peace.

We still don't know exactly what Hermione was going to explain to Ron and Harry three years before. Obviously it was about Draco, but what was she going to say?  What did she think would have possibly made a difference to Ron?

Author's Response:

I guess Harry's behaviour would disappoint more people than Hermione's would. I did a bit or reading about PTSD because I couldn't conceived that all involved not only in the last battle but in the years leading to it would come out of it without some mental damage. Plus in the wizarding word as far as JKR's books are concern looking after the emotional well being of its citizens was totally absent. No psychologist to speak of, social workers, a government agency looking after the well being of abused children, etc. Nothing. So when one crashed and burned one was pretty much alone and at the mercy of lady luck. All these thoughts came after I read the last book and found myself asking, what the hell happened to all of them 'the day after?'

Regarding your statement about Hermione selling short the wizarding world. In the context of my fic everyone close to her was pretty much dealing with her betrayal, the aftermath of the battle and of course their inner conflicts. Hermione Granger taking the stand during Draco's trial was a hard pill to swallow. Finding out she was pregnant and thinking about facing the wrath of the wizarding world once it was known she was going to have Draco Malfoy's baby pushed her to make that desperate move. You are right Arhur knows more than he is saying but so does Harry.

Ron is someone I keep going back to as I am writing. I don't hate the guy at all but how could I write him in the context of this fic without he and Hermione having a confrontation? In fact, as I mentioned before I was thinking of writing a fic with Ron as the protagonist and in relation to this fic. I want him to find a girl worthy of him, a feisty one.

What was Hermione going to say three years ago? Well, she wanted them to understand how it all happened. I think somewhere in the first ten chapters, 7 or 8, I am not sure Hermione tells Ginny a bit about what she was going through during that time. She acknowledged that Draco wasn't going to be accepted by them. What hurt Hermione the most is that those close to her thought she had betrayed her ideals and the she somehow had switch sides when she never did. She fell in love but not once did she justified Draco's actions. Anyway this has gone long enough. I thank you very much for taking the time to write such an insightful comment.

Pansy is right.  It is time for either Ron or Hermione to officially end the relationship.  We don't know exactly what Hermione is feeling, but we know that Ron is unhappy.  If things with Pansy go too far before Ron finds closure with Hermione, Ron will end up feeling guilty and make himself more miserable

I am curious about Herrmione.  She almost comes of as a malevolent presence in the the story.  Like something hidden in the shadows, ready to pounce at ant moment.  I hope she is not as bad as she is made out to be.  I hope we get to see her.  Pansy could set her straight about a few things.

The Draco Pansy relationship confused me at first, but it hit me.  They have devloped a brother sister bond.  The anger, affection, teasing, and trust shows the dicatomy of a sibling relationship.

All this and we still don't know what Pansy real issues are.

Author's Response: You will get to see Hermione at certain points in the story. Her first appearance is several chapters off. You will slowly learn Pansy's daemons. I hope you continue to enjoy the story.

Ron has always been sensitive about "charity" and even the best of friends have horrible fights.  Ron and Pansey need easch other, She provides the compaionship he needs and that Hermione refused to give.  He provides her with an honest friendship that is totally unconnected to her demons.

Speaking of which,  I have been thinking about Draco and Pansey.  I like this relationship.  Its no longer has any sexual tension but there is implict trust and genuine affection.  We know there is some promise and some connection between Pansy and the ferret.  I am guessing Lucius did something to herr or to them when she was 10, maybe they HAVE to live together for some reason.

Author's Response: I'm glad you like their relationship. The bond between them and the reason for why they live together will be given in a few chapters 0:)

Some observations--Since she has essentially become the bookeeper at WWW, Pansy must have earned George's trust and respect.  The entire family won't be after Ron about Hermione then.  I will have to reread the sections about Hermione to see if I can see why she was pushing Ron away.  I hope it is not a bloke, but I am beginning to suspect there IS a reason, a terrible one.

That was an interesting cast of characters in Pansy's nightmare.  Arthur, Kingsley, Lupin.  Just exactly who was Pansy's mother?

Draco, bless his soul is frequently the voice of reason,  Ron needed to know. Frankly if Ron is becoming ummm essential to her, he needs to know a lot more.  Draco and Pansy are like a brother and sister, a family.  Now Ron is becoming a third member of their family. Pansy needs to tell him everything.   She can't explain it to another living soul outside her family, but she has been making little slips with Ron since Christmas.  Ron may not be her lover, but he is more than a friend at this point.

Author's Response:

The reason for Hermione pushing Ron away is there, it's subtle though. I took inspiration from a break-up I watched with a girl very much like Hermione in her first few years after school. The reason becomes move obvious as the story progresses.

There is a lot of information coming up in a few chapters from now. This being Pansy's story, she knows the back-story and doesn't always say exactly what is going on. A careful reading of any of the chapters will give you a startling number of clues.

I'm hoping to have the next chapter up soon as the story picks up pace quickly.

I am confused.  Hope things start making sense soon.

Author's Response: A lot of things will come together regarding Pansy in the next three chapters. The first week of school has not been fun for me so I'm afraid that the next chapter won't be up until about two weeks from now.

I could be wrong, but I think Lizzie is still misjudging Ron.  I have this feeling that hes not angry for the reason she thinks he is. It's only a matter of time before he works out who else is in the circle...When he does, look out, not because of what may happen to him, but because of what they have done to her.

Author's Response: And I think your hammer is very close to the nail 0:) The next chapter is already in my beta's hands so hopefully we will get it up late next week.

I have to say I'm disappointed. I had looked forward to Hermione's appearance but she spends all her time denying the obvious.  Of course, Pansy is the potions master.  Of course it is her lab.  Her body language screams "I am in command here."

Hermione must be in a bad way.  Her appearance and lack of preperation for the meeting prove that.  I hope she gets better. Pansy deserves a more capable opponent.

Pansy is little better. She all but said My boyfriend is Ron. That is a  backhanded and sneaky way to force Ron to tell her before she gets the hint.

Author's Response: Hermione, unfortunately, is so focused on certain aspects of her life that she can't see what is in front of her face. All the work is making her less productive though she doesn't see it. To be honest, Pansy would love to rub it in Hermione's face but she is trying very hard to be more of an adult. She just doesn't always succeed.

befriend someone he knows he can trust?   hummmmmm

Many of the Slytherins are future Ceteri.  Draco is busy in the Room of Requirement.

Becoming overly friendly with a Gryfindor would be out of charcter for a supposed Slytherin.  Still...

Hello Lovley EJAUS!

Your review had me giggling. "Becoming overly friendly with a Gryfindor would be out of character for a supposed Slytherin.  Still...." I think you have fantastic instincts, dear! *winks* I hope you'll like the next chapter!!!! *hugs*

The thing that I found interesting is that there was no mention of Draco as a founder of the secret society. That makes me wonder what was Malfoy up to while his old school chums were murdering people.  Does Hugo know?

Author's Response:

Hello Lovely EJAUS!

I pretty much left Draco out of it as in sixth year he was more interested in trying find a way to kill Dumbledore. And even though I never really liked Draco, I thought that he acted differently in DH when at Malfoy Manor. I think he would have had a change of heart after the Battle of Hogwarts for all that he and his family had been through. You'll still see him in this story but he will not be around a lot as he's in the Room of Requirement trying to make the Vanishing Cabinet work. I hope you like the next chapter and thanks so much for your lovely review!
