I am indeed into the rare pairings...this was nothing short of delightful!  Your George is a pleasure, with just the right amont of self-deprecation to make him utterly irresistable.  And, I loved how you have presented him as the short, stocky Weasley, as per canon!  Nothing against the lovely Phelps boys, but...well, I digress.  And while George clearly and painfully misses his twin, he isn't morose or maudlin, and sums things up rather nicely:  Fred wouldn't have wanted it that way.  (Loved the portrait bits!  Great!) And what romance!  I loved Lupin's interest in the magics of the ancient stones; so many aspects of the story, but not enough space here to comment.  From the Weasley's Christmas gathering, to the bit with Draco at Hogwarts; George's affinity for the colour green; Lupin's lusty growl (!!); to the hilarious bit where George fusses over his reply, while the owl stares at him...excellent!    So wonderfully erotic, to boot!

Author's Response: I'm so glad you enjoyed this; truly, this story is so dear to my heart. Once I got these two together (and let me assure you, it took me quite a while to figure out how to do it believably!) I didn't want to stop writing them. I'm pleased you're enjoying this series as much as the others, even if it's earlier in my writing history. I am especially glad JKR lets portrait-folk interact; I couldn't bear for George truly to be alone without Fred. I adore writing Remus; so very happy that you find these two an erotic pairing. It is *definitely* a rarepair, especially as a series. Thank you so much for your wonderful, thoughtful comments!

And how could Remus not feel melancholy at times?  Perfect take on a new relationship, and all too true!  I just adore your George; he's giving Ron a run for his money!  It's your spot on characterizations...so well crafted, just the right amount of self-doubt.  And you manage to make Draco, so obviously the 'bad guy', rather palatable!  And the intimacies are just spendid, perfect...superbly done!  And the final scene, with George and Remus and Molly...parise be to the goddess that I have managed to find your works!  Thank you!

Author's Response:

::happy sigh:: I'd survive on your reviews alone, you know?? George was my first Ron, if you know what I mean; author self-insert definitely with George in this pairing, hence the confusion and self-doubt. Glad you liked the bits with Draco- I just felt it not *that* unlikely for George to succumb to his advances. He's human, after all.

I'm grateful that you're enjoying these so much. It's quite a rich tapestry in my own mind, and I adore sharing it.

Whoa.  I know I say this all the time, but, I REALLY LOVED THIS!  Such a rich tapestry on SO many levels;  I was laughing my rear off at the opening scene in Monaco with George and Ron at the pool, Ron floating about and smoking away...classic!  I could almost taste that cheap, sweet wine...*sigh*  I wanted to be there!  What a  holiday!  Fantastic scene with Hermione getting an eyeful of George & Remus, all three smashed into next Thursday...hilarious!  And then what happens to George at Drombeg...I could see George, drenched and shivering, bending over to grab his quill...and the way you write this pair...and Goerge's goatee.  (oh my!)  Completely involving story, fascinating, funny, and erotic.  Damn.  There I go again!  *grins*

Author's Response:

Thank you, dear! It was great fun writing the opening scenes; I almost wrote another vignette from Hermione's POV about her perception on what she saw... ;)

I'm so pleased that the Drombeg scene came to life for you, as well as the details and story that comes afterward. Now you know why it was so hard for me to write Ron/Remus!! These two really fit in my mind and this universe. Thank you again for your kind words!

Bloody Hell!  I'd read this and I've forgotten to leave a review!  Per usual, such wonderful wordsmithing.  I can see George and Remus on their chilly little porch, sipping tea, George in his tracksuit (nice touch!).  Marvelous backstory about George's events during the War.  I so enjoyed MacLeod; chuckled a bit at his Scot heritage!  So very well done!  Such an engrossing story, and then when Arthur shows up with is 'items'...whoa.  Amazing work, Thev!  Thanks for sharing this!

Author's Response: I'm glad that you enjoyed the backstory for this; I'd initially wanted to pull in more that corresponded with "Addiction," hence the Snape element. And MacLeod! Poor guy. And Arthur- dear baffled, well-meaning Arthur. I've subjected he and Molly and their family to such tragedy, but love, too. Many thanks for your kind comments.

Countdown by Thevina Rated: FG13 - Family Guidance13 starstarstarstarstar [Reviews - 1]
Summary:

A filling-in of The Order of the Phoenix from George Weasley's point of view. What kinds of conversations did they have with their roommates Lee Jordan and Kenneth Towler (and the other 7th-year Gryffindors) while Harry is whining and Ron is trying to figure what's going on? Who did they talk to before securing rent on their shop in Diagon Alley? Backstory for the twins, hopefully adding a 3rd dimension to two HP characters usually given short shrift and fairly flat descriptions. Written February-November, 2004.

Wow, this should be required reading for Weasleyphiles everywhere!  You've done a superb job of giving our favourite twins such an involving, humourous backstory.  For such popular characters, they certainly receive short shrift in canon.  I especially enjoyed how you allow us to see the real differences between Fred & George...so superbly done.  The reparte between them, and their mates Lee & Towler is perfect, just as one would imagine.  So many wonderful moments, at times somewhat bittersweet as I goofed and read 'Together Alone' first...

Yeah, I loved it...

Author's Response: Thank you so much, Wolfie! That is high praise, indeed. The twins don't get taken 'seriously' enough, I don't think... hence why I wrote this. I'm glad you enjoyed the interplay of Fred and George and their roommates, as well as the conscious effort to show how Fred and George are *not* identical in every way. I'll burn you a copy of the 'soundtrack' I made for it! :D :D

I believe that I am in heaven:  Vamp!Ron?  Wow!  So splendidly done.  I'm enthralled, for sure.  I'm so anxious for both Ron and Harry; so much pressure and strain on them both.  I know what I would do in a situation like this, regardless of Martin's warnings.  I certainly do not trust Martin's  motivations here; I suppose we'll find out!  So many indelible moments, but the creepiest is that of Martin sort of sliding across the grass to his borrowed car...I will wait as patiently as possible for the next installment!  Peace!

Author's Response: My dear Wolfgang, you flatter me so! I hope that the next few chapters which should bring all of this to a conclusion are of continuing high caliber. I\'m fascinated that you don\'t trust Martin- maybe off-list you\'ll let me know why. I thought he was transparently the Good Guy!

Yet another superb chapter.  Even as a vamp, Ron is so damned adorable, so devoted, so in love with his Harry.  I'm more than a bit concerned about Harry, especially the oddness about writing things on radom bits of paper...some sort of clinical introspection going on...

And wow!  The fisting sequence was amazingly erotic and so very well drawn--the desire and love these two have for each other comes across so very clearly...it almost makes my heart ache, thinking that this sort of intimacy cannot last...why I feel that way, I have no idea.

Loved Ron's LOTR line at the party (LOL for sure!).  And I'm not sure why I still don't trust Martin.  He's clearly on Ron's side, but if I were in Harry's shoes, I'd probably act the same way towards him.  And a perfect little bit where they slip into their old t-shirts and snuggle down for the 'day'.  Great!

Author's Response:

Dear Wolfie, thank you so much!! I love reading your reviews because you always see things in the story that even I didn\'t know were there, and you inspire my thoughts as to how the story will progress. I\'m so pleased that you feel the first hot scene worked, and that their intensity may come at a price not yet revealed...

Thank you, thank you!

How wise Harry turns out to have been!  Whether due to his Changing or by design, he knew the path Ron would have to follow initially; unlike himself, who desired to sever the ties with the mortal world, Ron simply retained too many of his emotional bonds, both to his family and career.  Once those bonds fell away, Ron was finally able to set himself free...or, I'd like to believe that, anyway!  I LOVE the idea of Harry on the cycle (could it be Sirius' old one?).  Great visual at the end, as well.

<i>"Unshackled and at last at peace, Ron let loose an ecstatic whoop..."</i>

Indeed.  I can't imagine a better beginning than this!

Author's Response:

Thank you, wolfie! I think Harry really just went his own way, but there was enough in their bonding that he knew when to return and that that would be point that Ron was ready to join him whole-heartedly in their immortal ways.

Don't reckon it's Sirius' cycle; that'd be too cliched. But Harry may have channelled more of Sirius as he spent time as a vampire!

So glad you enjoyed this! It *is* a beginning, isn't it?!

Such a rich, full treatment for Seamus!  So many excellent elements; I especially enjoyed how he resorts to his origami almost subconsciously.  Nice touch of angst over Draco's true intentions.   And I loved the bit about the blanket!  Okay, okay, so I liked the whole bloody thing, even the dragon at the end!  Great, Thev!

This certainly puts a new spin on how Sirius ended up in Azkaban.  I can see how they could fall into this pattern of addiction/abuse, especially considering how traumatic their lives had been.  Very haunting images of Lupin in Canada, and the scenes with he and Snape...whoa!  Deliciously dark!

Author's Response: I'm so glad you appreciated this; now you see what my formerly more common angst style is like. I do love writing the dark fics, and I'm pleased that you felt it was haunting. I figure all three of those men are very complicated, and in my mind, perhaps prone to something like what I subjected them to.

What a trilogy...a common thread of barely contained emotion courses throughout, from Draco alone with his roller, to Molly alone with Fred for the last time, finally ending with Remus alone and devastated.  All so moving, but none so much as 'white';  the image you create in Molly's head of what will happen if she lingers...wow.   Poor George.   Stunning, awful, and beautiful...

Author's Response: Thank you so very much; this is one of my favorites, perhaps because it\'s so colorfully bleak and unforgiving. I\'m glad you were moved by this series, and White in particular. I get teary every time I read it and was a mess when I wrote it. I appreciate your review of this so very much.

Nice to see things from Draco's POV here.  I enjoy how Malfoysian he still is, but softened slightly, more adult.   Fun stuff with his girlfriends in the club!   Bang on that he'd resist his impulses, especially considering his and Ron's history.  And again, your Ron is purely, unfailingly, ADORABLE!  I loved the lines about Ron never having hidden an emotion in his life;  he's so open, and honest.  And I nearly melted when Ron told Draco how no one had ever told him that he was loved before...GUH!

And the tightrope imagery was perfect!  Superb, Thev!

Author's Response:

If you were at all interested, I'd be having your babies now. :D

Thank you so much for your review; it was weird writing from Draco's POV, but I enjoyed it as I could show much more of how he really feels, since Ron doesn't often see it. So glad you didn't think the tightrope part was over the top; it was quite a risk Draco was taking. I'm a puddle of goo; many, many thanks for your comments.

Oh, now this was a most pleasant surprise!  I really have a huge soft spot for Harry/Cedric.  To me, Cedric's one of the most tragic characters in HP.  Very imaginative to create the special bedroom for the Champion.  Poor Harry, being stuck there with that awful Tri-Wizard Cup.  At first, I was a bit surprised at the AU turn, and overjoyed of course, but a bit sad, too (I really like Krum also!)   It was lovely seeing them together!  Nice job!

Oh my, all that delectable fur!  I enjoyed that this was from Sirius' POV, as we see that he isn't quite so self-assured as we normally see him.  Remus is positively perfect, somewhat hesitant to take Sirius, um seriously.  Makes sense, considering how he'd been shunned all his adult life.  Wonderful scenes in the pub, with both of them 'dancing' about each other with hungry stares.  Nice build up to the bedroom...*sigh*  Excellent!  Mayhap another Series in the making?

Author's Response: Yes, very hairy, the puppies!! I'm so glad you enjoyed this; writing them as innocents was a very new experience. I wanted to draw out the seduction, but also for them to get to enjoy each other. Thank you so much for the review!
