i love the shift into actually trying to work out what is wrong. and the difference here with lee feeling guilty compared to when george was in the wrong.

it's a great 'equal' relationship you are drawing. they both are vulnerable to each other, and both answerable to each other. i adore how assertive they are when they are 'in the right'. eg. <i>"And I don’t want you taking illicit potions -ever. That’s a deal breaker with me, got it?"</i> ~~so brave.~~ and how lee was when george stepped out of line previously.

the last little paragraph is delicious.

The Lee in my head is simply stunning. I'm thrilled that you 'got' the shift between George's temper and his trying to be rational about it.

Writing a humbled Lee was sooo satisfying.  And letting George feel the pride of having been the more rational and 'adult' for a change. I think it will make him braver.

did you hear that, maple? surely you did. surely my shriek woke you on your side of the world, because i am SO excited to get to read this one. i have really looked forward to it. and it's so nice to get the smoosh after yesterdays hiccup for the boys!

ok, so i was quoting half the thing.

here's what i love so much in this piece.

the way you've used the prompt not to examine inside them, but to look outward and reveal about them by showing what they love. and though there is this fundamental individual *thing* happening, they are still so in synch.

i adore how they can relate to each other's lusting, and i can't believe that i.... that fandom at large hasn't seen this earlier. it's SO FRICKEN OBVIOUS! of course! it's angelina and lee and the weasley twins!!!!

and appreciating so much the dynamic with angelina and lee <i>pretending</i> that they were talking about red-heads and pale nipples and pink c*cks (couldn't do it! damn!) whereas fred and george really <i>were</i> discussing how they love their lovers, but demured (spontaneously).

and the 'are you in love' conversation is the thing that owns me today.

There were a million ways to go with the prompt of 'twins' of course, but I'd been envisioning this for awhile now. It was such a pleasure to get it done.

Can you imagine poor George, having been in this relationship for months now, and not having anyone to talk to about it. It would drive you nuts.

I'm so glad you realize the Angelina and Lee thing. It just screamed at me when I realized it myself.

Lee walked carefully past George and pressed his face to the side of George head; not quite a kiss, but a brief affection that made George close his eyes to absorb the contact.

fred is being a turkey, but the triad that is their friendship is such a precious thing. i love the distinction in how lee and fred's friendship is having to adjust, because of the intimacy he now shares with george.

can't wait for the rest of these.

i can't help but notice that in response to a compliment for naama, charlie can only respond in how valuable she is to the colony.

he really is emotionally a bit... challenged... isn't he? as though, if he can't compliment her rack he can't acknowledge her beauty? ha! but she knows exactly how to 'handle him' and the comparison to the 'george!dragon' is perfection.

Heh, ok, well if you want to reeeaaallly get into it ... I think Naama is one the first woman that Charlie felt a deep respect for her intellect and personality and for having the same intuition with animals that he did. Rather than just a body to warm his bed. She's also the first woman who didn't swoon over Charlie's good looks at the first and made him get his act together before she'd have anything to do with him. I see her having some heavy handed qualities, like Molly, about her.

But as for the compliment, I'd hoped that it showed that he saw her as beautiful in more ways than just her looks.

Fred and Ron both seemed to swell slightly where they sat, as if to provide a barrier around George.

i love the way you are pulling all of this together - all of the relationships, as well as all of the plot points - getting ready for the finale.

i love the quiet intimacy of their public relationship. and i love the image of the cool, calm lee jordan. i feel a bit like george. privileged to know that he has another side. vulnerable, silly, and sexy as hell.

this is such a great achievement, maple. you've established a ship in the minds of so many people. you've taken lee from being unconscious and with this huge part of him hidden from his best friends, to being strong and proud and in love and WILLING TO COMMIT! *twirls and snuggles him* and georgie. oh what a journey he's been on. and he's so open now. he's so loving, and protective and maturing into such a wonderful man. i'd be proud to have him as a son. he's kept his sense of humour and his relationships with his family.

and the two of them together. *sigh* so beautiful. so RIGHT.

You wrote all that commentary so lovely, and it's what I wanted to show of them, how they went from where they were in the beginning to where they ended. I knew they would change significantly over the course of the story and I'd really hoped I could show them grow together. How can you write a convincing love story? Some people do it very well, and I just hinted at it though little scenes and loads of sex! :P It was exhausting, and I think I'm smutted out now.
