Okay I am sorry I waited so long to read that. That was by far my favorite chapter. The raw emotions that Hermione felt where real and wonderfully described. That was also the first time that I had read anything that came close to describing a loving parent child relationship. I like how others are helping the three of them, even if they have the lions share of the work I like that others are not letting forget that they are not alone in this. This was great work.

Author's Response: I will never complain that you're late to the party! I'm just glad you're here at all!

Thank you so very much for your kind words on this chapter. I very much like my Trio having loving parents/godparents,and I really enjoy How Sirius has stepped up to be there as much for Ron and his Clever Boots as for Harry.

Out standing! You were able to capture the peaceful love of a family holiday and the anguish of a father not being able to defend his family from unspeakable horrors in such a small space. The love that saved Harry is so clearly present you can almost feel it yourself.  I so wish I could cuddle the crying Harry.

That was incredible. You were able to really portray the true honest love between the two men you showed how it is so much deeper and more profound then romantic love. It’s a real testament to your talent that both men were shown to be multifaceted and complex, they were both strong and scared at the same time that is always difficult to portray. The embarrassment that Harry felt from being sick and the helplessness that Ron was excellent.

Hats off to you for a great story

(I_M_B00)

Author's Response: Hey Boo - thank you so much for your comments! *blushing* The depth of their friendship is really my favorite thing in the whole series, so I'm thrilled you think I conveyed that. It was tricky fitting so much into a relatively short fic. If I could have written the story the way I'd envisioned it, it would have been a handful of chapters. But none the less, I'm so glad you read it. Thank you!

I read your story some time ago. It was recently pointed out to me on LJ that if we don’t have to pay for entrainment we should at least review. And I apologize for taking so long.

You story was able to pull me in emotionally. Not all fan fiction can do that. The tone of the story really punctuated the depression of characters. I could feel the hopelessness of each. Like two mirror images, opposite but the same, and locked in glass. Neither could break free of imposed rules and expectations. Even at the end.

I felt really felt for Draco in this story. I saw him as melancholy at the end of this story. He resigned himself to the situation.  Draco could use some magic but it was still on Harry’s whim. Harry never opened himself fully physically to Draco and that made me feel that the dynamics of the relationship were not trully equal. At the end they were still locked in the mirror.  It saddened me that Harry couldn’t see that almost when dealing in relations is never enough. To be fair how does one make up for slavery? That would have been a tall order for Harry to fill.

It speaks buckets about your writing that I can feel so bad for a ‘person’ who is not real. This was a truly wonderfully engaging story. I have read so many of your stories and I feel that you are truly a gifted story teller. I don’t feel I need to go into the mechanics of your writing because you must already know how sound they are.

Author's Response: oh wow.  Please let me know who pointed out this (about leaving reviews) so I can thoroughly snog them.  Letting me know how you connected with the story, with my writing totally and completely makes my day.  Thanks so much.

The mood was perfect.  the words so haunting. I you really captured the trauma of war. No, happy endings don’t happen, sometimes we can make do with an ending and make peace with that. It seems to be that is what Ron and Percy are struggling to do. You really used emotions amazingly well. Every one had emotions and true feelings. I really love your work.

Author's Response: I'm so glad you like the story and thank you for your lovely review! It's the struggle to find some peace that always intrigues me and I'm so glad that came across on screen. Thanks again.

I absolutely loved this. It felt so true and honest. It outlined the natural pacing when developing and friendship and more. It didn’t feel like the story was rushed to get to the ‘good parts’ it also didn’t drag. It felt like you were really watching a friendship develop.

Your Draco was spot on. He was not guilty and full of wimpy remorse nor was he maiming small animals. He knew who he was and simply wanted to be left alone. Not in a false ‘please invite me’ but in a real way. I do have a soft spot for topDraco (I think I am only one) But you Draco didn’t feel squishy and like he would never meet Harry on Harry’s level. I can see a real equal relationship.

Your Harry was good as well. The fact that was willing to let Draco says that he does see Draco as an equal.

This way just very well done. Thank you I really enjoyed this.

Author's Response: oh wow.  This is the second super thoughtful review I've received from you and I'm so touched.  I just went to look up who you are and realize that we do sort of know each other on LJ (friends of friends)- I friended you over there.  Thank you so so much.

I read this a few weeks ago all in one weekend. I just couldn’t stop reading. I love your depiction of Rose. A perfect mix to Ron and Hermione. She is head strong be gets swayed easily. Scorpius is wonderful. It really brings home how you can’t make a son atone for a father. I like him and really feel bad that he can’t chase his dream. I like how you woven in the real war with the post war. I can see it would be very hard for Rose to love her mother and not hate all Malfoys with the information she now knows.

I usually don’t review till the end and to be honest thought it was completed when I stared it. Any way I really like this story arc and I’m eager to find how the new generations comes to terms with what the older ones have lived and yet still be free enough to like who they like.

This was excellent. Every time I read one of your stories I feel like I am all ready involved in the story at the first line. It’s a real talent that you can do that.

I never read rape. But this was different. You captured the helplessness and embarrassment of the victim, and the anger and confusion of friends really well. Very honest to such a trauma.

I just love how Ron is still Ron just older.
