Great research on Beltane and a very sweet story also.  What are the 7 woods used in the fire?  I can't seem to find a list of them anywhere.  Thanks for a wonderful read.

Author's Response: I'm glad you enjoyed the story! From what I've read, the nine sacred woods are: birch, oak, rowan, willow, hawthorn, hazel, apple, fir, and vine (grape); although some lists drop two of the woods in favor of holly and yew. I think it depends on what part of the British Isles the holiday was celebrated, and whether the tradition is modern Pagan or Druidic.
