When I read DH I figured there'd be a lot of H/Hr while Ron's away smut, which is unfortunate, because I think it cheapens the characters.  Now this is coming from a R/Hr fan who dislikes H/Hr and thinks there's absolutely nothing romantic in any scene in the books.  I think this really needed more development instead of just leaping into the smut.  I'm actually a little surprised because of the other stories I've seen you've actually attempted to put that development into the relationships, even if you have very different ideas on the characters than I do.  I'd have also liked to have seen some actual resolution instead of what amounts to a cop out in the form of the Obliviate.

Author's Response: Well, for me, the "Obliviate" ending, and Hermione's lines that follow, were teh whole point of the story. If that's a cop-out to you, then there's no level on which the story can work for you, and, well, sorry it wasn't your cuppa.

Author's Response: Thanks so much for the kind words.

Well, if I may offer a bit of criticism, this was actually an intriguing premise and could have made for an interesting outtake of DH if you'd kept the characters intact and given the story more depth than just a PWP.  I liked the ending, but you know, Harry and Hermione were on their own in that tent for a loooong time.  Knowing how "gravely ill" Harry gets at one point, with all the visions, how vile their excursion to Godrics Hollow, and the prolonged isolation before Ron and the sword appear, these two could have gone down some seriously twisted path with that Horcrux goading them on before the trio's reunion.  Ooh, and Hermione guilt aftermath.  Missed opportunities here.

Author's Response: I was going for something short, sharp, and hard, with an impact like a punch in the gut. Sorry it didn't work for you.

I thought it was really well written. It would have played in very well with THe Deathly Hallows, but then it wouldn't be a childrens book anymore. Even though I'm not for the Harry/Hermione ship but i couldn't resist.

Author's Response: Thanks very much!

Yes. Well. This is really a very good story and if my heart wasn't hurting for Ron the whole time I would have enjoyed it completely. I would say this makes you a good writer cause you have me thinking "yeah this could have happened". I'm going to add you to my favorite authors.
