Very powerful and stirring ending.  I usually hate the whole alcohol + contrived situation to get someone alone = sex, so thank you for not going there.  Great story.

Author's Response:

This was a challenge I insisted was impossible. "Ron/Sirius? I'm sorry, uh.. no way. I can't see it." But once I didn't have to go for the sex we could focus on what they really have in common, a sense of rootlessness and being stuck between roles where they don't truly fit. Of course, this was written pre-OotP (and HBP) so I don't know if it still fits with canon.
